You are getting "Page cannot be displayed" and/or DNS errors
when you try to web browse:
This is a common problem with @Home users and other
users whose ISP sets them up to access the web via the ISP's proxy
server. The ISP usually does this to try to lower the load on
their Internet backbone connection by serving cached pages from the
proxy server.
This should normally not cause a problem.
However, since @Home does not use FQDNs (Fully Qualified Domain Names) for
their servers, Sharing clients frequently don't know how to find the
servers, since they are on their own, separate, network.
(@Home typically names their mail server mail, when they
should name it mail.home.com or mail.altoona.home.com
or something similar.)
To fix the problem for web browsing, just
go to your browser's Proxy settings and set it to connect directly to the
Internet.
