Linksys released a revised version of 1.37, dated Fri Jan 5, 2001, and did not change the firmware revision number.  We recommend you download and install this new version if you already installed the older 1.37 version.  Changes from the earlier 1.37 version are shown in bold below.

This version has the following improvements over 1.36:

1. Modified the access log message to import to Excel
2. Add the RAS function
NOTE: This is not a Remote Access Server function.  It is connection management system similar to PPPoE.
3. Move Log page to first banner.
4. Add a “MAC Address Clone” page
5. Fixed NEWS server connection problem
6. Add a Note message in “Setup” page for PPPoE and RAS
7. Modified the HTTP module
8. Modified LCP_request time to avoid the timeout issue. Timeout increased to 15 seconds.
9. RAS Plan: When choose 256k, it will show 256k even refresh.
10. RAS help is in the setup help.

9/23/00 V1.35 RELEASE Information:

NOTE: Multiple users have complained of problems with this release.  
Reported problems include:

  • Resolving domain names (can see DNS servers, but name resolution fails.)

  • Router lock-ups (fixed by power-cycling the router)

  • Connection drops

  • Intermittent inability to connect to the built-in admin pages

Try going back to the 1.33.1 BETA version, which can be downloaded from the Linksys FTP site (file is named befsr_v1331.exe), or the 1.30 previous released version, also downloadable from the FTP site (file is named befsr_v130.exe).

4) Incoming / Outgoing Logging features added, including the ability to send the log to a specific machine. (The LogViewer application works with Windows machines only).[Log Tab].

The optional LogViewer.exe application is not included in the 1.35 zip file, even though it's mentioned in the help section of the log page. However, the LogViewer is in the 1.33.1 self extracting zip file, which can be downloaded from the Linksys FTP site (file is named befsr_v1331.exe), and also included in the 1.35 Helper below.

Download this 1.35 Helper (267KB .zip format) for some additional documentation for this release.  Documents are in text, MS Word, and MS Excel formats. This file also contains the logviewer.exe and snmp.dll files for use with the Logging function on Windows machines.


8/31/00 V1.34 RELEASE Information:
