For users of Microsoft Windows, please run WBR193e.EXE
directly. It will search the Router on your LAN and ask
you to type system password. Just type in the password
and click "Upgrade" button. It takes about 30 seconds
to finish the whole procedure.

For users of other platforms, please refer Section D for
platform-independent upgrade.

Section B. WARNING MESSAGE
**************************

The files will upgrade the firmware of your Cable/DSL 
Router to version R1.93e.

1. NOTE! DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHEN THE UNIT IS BEING
   UPGRADED, OR THE UNIT MAY BE DAMAGED.

2. The configuration will not be changed. You need not
   configure it again.

*** R1.93c TO R1.93e

1. Bug fixed: when "Wake-up" button is clicked, all 
   checkboxes on "Misc Item" page will be unchecked.

2. Port number of each access control group is increased
   to 30.

3. SonicWall SOHO VPN pass-through problem was solved.


*** R1.92e TO R1.93c

1. Add "MAC Address Control" feature. It enables you
   1) MAC level Access Control
   2) Assign the mapping between MAC and IP address for
      the DHCP server

2. Add a feature to send Wake-on-LAN frame from LAN or
   WAN side.

3. Allow user to edit the MAC Address of the WAN port.

4. Support IP Fragment pass through.

5. Fix a bug of IPsec pass-through handling that causes

   You have to configure the PC to be the DMZ host.

2. Fix a bug of NetMeeting handling. You have to configure 
   the PC to be the DMZ host.

3. Add a firewall feature to block port ranges for DMZ host.
   Just enable a "Special Application" with null trigger,
   all ports listed in INCOMING PORTS will be blocked out
   even DMZ host is enabled. The following setting is
   recommended when you enable DMZ host:

      Trigger = [    ], Incoming Ports = [ 1-1023 ]

   Note: the above setting will not affect the function of 
   Virtual Server.

4. Fix a bug that causes lock-up problems when WAN type is
   Dynamic IP Address.

1. Support absolute timestamp on system log.

2. Fix a bug that causes problem to backup setting.

3. Fix a bug that causes problem when IP address
   pool of DHCP server was changed and the system
   wasn't cold rebooted.

1. Support configuration backup and restoring. To backup,
   please click "Backup Setting" button on "Tools" pages.
   To restore, just *Upgrade* the saved file.

2. Support one non-standard FTP port. Please configure
   the non-standrad FTP port on "Misc Items" pages. This
   feature is useful when you have to access an FTP server
   whose port number is not 21.

3. Improve IPSec pass-through support. No configuration
   is needed to connect to IPSec VPN server. To host an 
   IPSec VPN server on the private network, configure
   port 500 as Virtual Server.

4. Support more IPSec sessions (8) and PPTP sessions (8).

5. "Renew IP Forever" will also automatically connect to
   ISP when the connection is broken.

6. Improve the PPPoE compatiblility.

7. Fix a bug of DHCP client.

Section D. Platform-independent Firmware Upgrade
************************************************

First, go to our web site to download firmware image 
file, WBR193e.BIN. Remember the location you save this 
file. And then choose one of the following two methods:

* METHOD I: WEB UPGRADE

1. Connect the Web user interface and login as system
   administrator.

2. Click the "Firmware Upgrade" button of "Toolbox" page. 
   And the "Firmware Upgrade" screen will appear.

3. Enter the location of the previously downloaded file in 
   the text box, or click "Browse" button to search for the 
   file. And then click "Upgrade" button.


* METHOD II: FTP UPGRADE

  Use any FTP client you preferred to upload the downloaded
  files.

  The username to login the FTP server is "root" and the 
  password is the same as the system administrator's. The
  default setting is "admin".

  Close the FTP session when the files are uploaded. It
  takes about 30 seconds. After the session is closed, the 
  router will be restarted automatically.

  The configuration will not be changed!
