How to Resolve Sky Q Box Not Connecting to Internet
Check All Cables & Connections
If you are experiencing issues with your Sky Q, the first step is to check all of your cables and connections. Make sure that all of the cords are plugged into their corresponding ports, and ensure that none of them are loose or damaged. If any cables appear to be frayed or broken, it may be a good idea to replace them.
If your power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet, check to make sure that the outlet is working properly. You can do this by plugging in another device, such as a lamp, to see if it turns on. If the outlet is not working, you may need to reset the circuit breaker or contact an electrician.
Check for WiFi interference
There are some devices that can interfere with your home Wifi signal and cause problems for your Sky Q device. These include baby monitors, microwave ovens, cordless phones, and televisions.
If you have any of these devices in the same room as your Sky Q, try moving them to see if that improves the situation.
You should also check to see if there are any thick walls or metal objects between your Sky Q box and the router.
These can also interfere with the Wifi signal and cause problems for your device.
Forget WiFi Network and Rejoin
If you’re still having trouble connecting to WiFi, you can try forgetting your network and then reestablishing a connection.
To do this:
Go to Settings, Network connection, Network setup. Then, select Reset and wait while your internet connection is checked.
Once done, select Confirm to reset your network and your Sky Q box will show a Resetting message on the screen.
Use The Correct WiFi Password
If you’ve recently changed your home Wifi password, it’s possible that you’ve entered the new password incorrectly when setting up your Sky Q.
To fix this, you’ll need to go into the Wifi settings on your device and enter the new password.
Reboot Your Router
If your Wifi is not working, you may need to reboot your router. To do this, unplug the power cord from the router and wait for 30 seconds before plugging it back in.
Once your router has rebooted, try reconnecting your Sky Q box.
Restart your Sky Q Box
If you’re still having problems with your Sky Q device, it may be a good idea to restart it. This can often help to clear any minor glitches that may be causing the issue.
To restart your Sky Q, simply unplug the device from the power outlet, wait a few minutes to clear the RAM and then plug it back in.
Once the device has restarted, you should be able to use it as normal.
Use an Ethernet Connection
If it is possible connect your router to your Sky Q device with an ethernet cable this will provide a strong and stable internet connection.
